2007 kickASTtri
July 4, 2007:
First off, a big thanks to Mike for opening the pool for all of the triathletes. We
met at Annandale Swim & Tennis (AS&T) a little before 7:00 AM. We managed to 'kick'
things off at about 7:15 AM.
The usual folks in attendance were Joe, Mike, Ken, Ron, and Gina. Jodi came back
for her second time and brought her friend Tammy. Other newbies were Chris,
Jarla, Jacki, Deana, and Keri. Andrew joined us for the run.
We even looked official with the race numbers
provided by Ron, which were worn on the bike and run. There was one chain mishap early on the bike
course and then two of our adventurous bikers missed the turn on the way back
and took the scenic route back to T2. The run offered a couple of different
options.
Those who 'entered' the 2007 Kick AST Tri
completed the following:
- 800-ish meter swim in the clean, clear waters of
the AS&T pool
- 16 mile bike ride through the hills of North Springfield starting and
finishing at AS&T
- 3-ish mile run starting and finishing at AS&T
