July 4, 2008:
Again, a big thanks to Mike for opening the pool for all of the athletes. We
met at Annandale Swim & Tennis (AS&T) around 7:00 AM and kicked
things off at about 7:10 AM.
The usual folks in attendance were Joe, Mike, Ken, Ron, and Gina. Chris returned for her
a second time and brought his wife Paula for the swim and run. Jarla also
returned! Newbies this year were Matthew and Patrick. Andrew again joined us for the run.
Some of us looked official with the race numbers
again provided by Ron, which were worn on the bike and run. We had another chain mishap
partway through the bike
course but we all returned at the same time to T2. The run offered a couple of different
options - as always.
Those who 'entered' the 2007 Kick AST Tri
completed the following:
- 800-ish meter swim in the clean, clear waters of
the AS&T pool
- 14-ish mile bike ride through the hills of
Annandale and North Springfield starting and
finishing at AS&T
- 3-ish mile run starting and finishing at AS&T
Congrats to all who participated!
